The Louisiana Orthopaedic Association invites you to the 2018 Annual Meeting, February 2-3, 2018, at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans.

Dr. Matthew Williams as program director has developed a dynamic program.  We are fortunate to have 3 outstanding speakers joining us this year in New Orleans.

Dr. Wael Barsoum is President of Cleveland Clinic Florida and a member of the Cleveland Clinic Board of Governors and Executive Team. He is a proven leader who has directed several initiatives to improve clinical outcomes, patient experience, and hospital operations.  He specializes in adult reconstruction consisting of primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He will be speaking on reconstructive challenges of the arthritic hip and current management of the arthritic knee. Furthermore, he will also be providing an insightful discussion on the current business of healthcare.

Dr. Hill Hastings has been in practice at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center since 1981 and is Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Indiana University Medical Center.  Dr. Hastings will be speaking about total elbow arthroplasty for fracture and nonunion.  Additionally, he will speak about hemi-hamate resurfacing arthroplasty.

And last but certainly not least, our immediate past president Dr. Felix “Buddy” Savoie will speak. Dr. Savoie is currently Ray J. Haddad Professor of Orthopaedics and the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine.  He is past president of LOA, AANA, and ASES.  Dr. Savoie will speak on his indications and techniques of elbow arthroscopy.

In addition to our regular meeting, LAMMICO will present a discussion on Friday and a symposium on Saturday morning.  A 15% discount on medical malpractice expenses is provided for all members attending both sessions.

The President’s Reception with the exhibitors will be held at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans from 5:30 to 7:00 pm on Friday February 2, 2018.  The winner of the Top Resident Paper Competition will be announced at this event.
